WOW! What great timing (lol), I just got notified that Aircraft Cert (FAA) is going to start work on my wing mod STC. Maybe, I should ask Piper for tech support??? Yathink they remember what a Piper Pacer is? Not being part of the 1% it does not matter. Jeeze, Gilert...get my hopes up :-$

Lucky me, I got one too!
Should I ask them about a 1320 gross weight?

I doubt anyone at Piper today knows anything about tube and rag airplanes. My guess is they are hard up for cash flow and are trying to generate income.
You are not going to get any help from them for free and you will be paying to get their engineers educated on rag and tube.

Might be interesting to get a quote on a simple mod.

American Eurocopter charges around $1,000 for a Repair Order or a Engineering Order on their helicopters. That may seem like a lot for GA aircraft but I would hate to think of what it would cost to get a DER to approve it. My guess is that Piper is working towards EASA certification.

Is that why half the words and abbreviations in the NOTAMS are in French?
