Just finished weighing my PA-16 with an O-320 came in at 1027 Lbs. Sounds like that is about right, now just need paperwork finished and go fly it, can't wait.

I flew it for the first time today, WOW gets of in 300 feet climbs like a rocket and really goes. Shows 130 & 2400 rpm and cruise nice at 118 @ 2200 rpm. Flys very nice I noticed I use the trim more but the stick pressure has not changed much. It made great airplane even better.

Sounds great, I would check the airspeed with a GPS.

Anybody care to guess what my experimental Clipper/Vag will weigh when finished? Fuselage built to Clipper specs except no back seat or structure for back seat. Trimmer style doors and PA-18 gear, extended wings,Stewart style wingtips, extended flaps, PA-18 tail, ECI O340 with lightweight items and Catto prop. I am shooting for 950 or less. Is it possible?

my 22/20 is just over 1000 lbs. 950 is possible in a 16. I left out head linner and insulation, and have no vacuum pump. The Sutton exhaust and light weight battery helped. Good luck.

A few are posted in this thread.....http://www.shortwingpipers.org/forum...ebuilt-Clipper
Haven't been able to do much more since then. I have been busy with a customer cover job. Will probably be late summer before I can get back on the project.
