[QUOTE=andya;51391]"I am looking for a Piper Letter dated 11-15-67"
Dave or Andya. When I bought my PA15, 15-230, in 1975, it had the gear conversion but not the Gross weight increase. I have downloaded the 1961 Piper letter and the back of the 337 from Andya's post. Is it possible to get a copy of the front of that 337 to use for the prior reference. Have any other examples of 337s or Piper letters surfaced since the last post? Thanks for the help

Martin,
It's been on the back burner for a while. I have multiple
337's and mine is nearly complete but not submitted.
Taking delivery of new planes at work has occupied ALL
Of my time. I'll dig them out and scan them.
Dave
As Dave references I also have a letter from Wes Holmes Service Manager at Piper Aircraft Oct 24, 1961 re PA15-62 for weight increase to 1150. Copy sent to SWPC George C-FINC
Thanks Dave. George, the Piper letter I have is dated September 27, 1961 and is signed by Robert Gift. can you send me a ,pdf of the letter you have? Thanks

My FAA guy (bless his heart) found a pre 1955, 337 for a model change to a PA17.
Working on the Field Approval/337 now for the sex change from PA15 to PA17 and the resulting gross weight increase.
N4405H is coming out of a rather extensive annual. Looking for documentation to support my field approval for a GW increase. Dave, were you successful with yours? I have Andy's scanned 1961 letter from Piper, but any pre-1955 337s would be most appreciated. BTW, research led to a discovery that Little Tweet has a pre-'55 337 for a non-electric, C-85-12 upgrade. If anyone needs one for approved documentation, let me know...
Regards,
Update: Working with my FSDO inspector in Memphis. This is really one of the good guys. It looks like we may have forward movement using the Piper letter Andy posted (above) and Piper drawings:
11550
11805
11530
I'm cautiously optimistic that I might get a 337 through using this "approved" data without having to accomplish (a) STC(s), subjecting to conformity inspections, or otherwise transforming N4405H from a PA-15 to PA-17. I may be premature in my optimism, but we're massaging the wording on the 337 now.
I can't say enough good things about the SWPC Drawing CDs. Even if you're not a fan of SWPC, Inc., these CDs are most assuredly worth having... (Ok, commercial over).
