Hey all...still doin some cosmetic work on 06zulu and decided if possible I would like to replace my plastic dash cover with one not warped or chipped...any suggestions as I can't find anyone that makes one...if I could upgrade to a "glare shield" that would be awesome!
Thanks always for the advice...god knows this kid can use it.

there was a member here that had a company [ E G composites ] to make them out of carbon fiber last I check they were still making them and were for sale I have contact info somewhere I will have to do a litle search to find it if no one else has it
If that doesn't pan out, mine is not too messed up. It's straight anyway. Let me know if you are interested, we are going to put in a Clyde Smith panel without the hump and make a new glareshield.
It's not impossible to form one out of aluminum sheet, 6061 or 3003 works well. I think I used 6061-t6 about .025 or .030, been a long time since I did that. After finished, covered with some approved fabric material.
My Colt has a glareshield that was made by the previous owner. He started with a sheet of ABS plastic and shaped it with a heat gun and various improvised tools. This was done with the windshield out; I think it would be hard to do this with the windshield in place without damaging the windshield.
The pictures aren't the best, but I think you can get the idea. The cover is easy to remove (about half a dozen screws) for access behind the panel.
