    Default Electronics International Group Buy

I got to fly dad to Cleveland yesterday to pick up a new (to us) grain truck, and the old mechanical tach finally gave out on us. On the way home, I was cruising at 7.8 gph, 100 knots, 19" of MP, and 3400, yes 3400 RPM. At that RPM I should have been close to mach 1. It's been bad for a while because it was bouncing all over the place.

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in an attempt at a group purchase for the EI digital tachometer. From what I've read, everyone seems to be very pleased with them.

Mathew Sharp, who put these buys together in the past is no longer with Electronics International however I have been talking to another salesman there and if there is enough interest I am sure we can get some good pricing.

I was reading on the thread about the previous group buy for these instruments and I was thinking about calling Matthew and seeing what he could do, but if he is gone, I will just wait and see if anyone else is interested now. Or maybe everyone else already has a digital tach?

We liked the original look of the old tach, but it sounds like rebuilt ones don't hold up very well, and a new one won't look the same anyway, so we might as well upgrade to the digital world.

How about we make it a group buy on anything Electronics International. Should be able to get 25% discount.

Sounds like a good idea to me! 25% will definitely make a big difference. Do you know how many people we will need to get that?

I may be interested. I don't have a CHT or EGT. The fuel flow looks tempting also.

The fuel flow has been on my wish-list but I just can't afford all these discounts.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the computer "ignore" this thread

I would also like to replace my Amp gage with a Volt/Amp gage. I cannot afford these discounts either. I have to be careful with the wants vs. needs.

Wants vs Needs...ugh, I feel the same way when I add up all the money invested and I still have 0.0hrs on this airplane. There is a flying Maule on Barnstormers for $24k right now. I think I'm feeling sick

But, in the interest in my fellow Shortwingers I will most likely participate in group buys! I would hate for Zac to not get a new EI tach because I didn't support him ;-)
