Re: Generator belt size O290-D2 need info
Yes for sure but I'd like to fly into my mechanic friends strip and pull it apart, put on a new belt and fly out. I'm trying to avoid finding out the local auto parts store doesn't have it..might even have to order it on line so don't want the plane down as my wife is learning to fly in it.

I googled your lycoming p/n and says 33.25 in belt, the one I linked is 33.31 in. Get a leather shoe string, open your cowling and tape the string to your belt, turn the prop by hand slowly until the string reappears and mark the string, you have the belt size. Or just cut the belt off and go match it to one. Are you really going to need a generator on the flight to your buddys strip?

Re: Generator belt
I merged several threads on the same subject. The O-290 and 2320 should use the same belt. There is a different size flywheel on some later Lycoming engines but should not effect our Short Wings.
