So, we didn't have a good way to remove the liner from the tail post. Inspected the holes for cracks and found none so we applied the patches as described in the more recent version of the STC. Everything is welded and primed and ready for fabric.

The IA and I want to keep the "triangle" open for ease of inspection. I stole this picture from Stephen's Bushmaster thread. Any hints, tips, tricks, etc for executing this covering job? I'm using Ceconite and butyrate IAW the original STC.

Just to close the circle, the tailpost repair is complete and the Pacer flew again today. Nothing fell off--always a good start.
I left open the triangle between the forward and aft tail spring attach points, then cut a plug out of dense foam rubber to jam in the hole. The spring actually holds it firmly in place. I'll see how long it lasts, but at least there is now some access for inspections.

I think I have all the required tapes applied. I also put access panels on both sides (with Pierce Aero grommets). Now to start spraying butyrate.
