    Default PA-22 Nose gear strut

I purchased a Oleo strut rebuilt kit and when i opened it, the contents included three O-ring and a rubber packing. I know where all the O-ring are located but i am not sure what the packing is intended for. Any help?

    Thanks

    Bob

I think you mean the piece of wiper material...yes? 10V70 wiper strip ?

If yes, it is trimmed for a tight fit and pressed into the strut last to wipe the big chunks off and helps keep the o-rings cleaner.

one more question, how tight should the spanner type nut on top of the oleo strut be.

Tight enough to turn but no play is how I have always done it.
