Healthy Bastards Bush Pilot Champs 2014 - New Zealand

For anyone "downunder" on 1st Feb 2014, you'd be more than welcome to join us at Omaka Airfield, Blenheim, New Zealand for our annual Healthy Bastards Bush Pilot Champs.
Last year we had 58 entries. This year hoping for even more than that, including a C208 caravan, and a Walter Fletcher Ag Aircraft. Should be some pretty capable STOL aircraft present.
$500 prizemoney to be won for each category. Catered meal, bar, and live music all night.

Craig - weather's looking good for the rest of the week and particularly the weekend. Mind you I do not mind the recent rain as my water tank is a lot fuller this year than last. Have to pick someone up at a strip just north of Pirongia Friday morning and should be there about 3ish via Wanganui for lunch, just have to avoid all the airspace on the way down as the Transponder is playing up - well according to the Tauranga Tower staff.

Just like last Easter I assume there will be no time to have a play in BSH, so will just have to fly down again some other time.

Will get in some competition practice tomorrow morning before work so i have a rough idea, but really just coming to watch and learn.

Hi Bernard, yip ... all looking very promising!!
Just sorting the entries as we speak. 62 entries including 4 Pacers, several Cubs, a dozen 180/185's, couple of Citabria's, half a dozen Zenith/Rans S6 and S7's, a Wilga .... even a Cessna Caravan, and a mint Cessna 195!!
Roll on Saturday !!

Craig - Sorry I won't make it this year!

I forgot my granddaughter turns 18 on the 3rd (has her drivers licence booked for - you guessed it - the 3rd!) and she would be really disappointed if I didn't turn up to the party.
I am still planning to come over later this year so that you can knock some of the rust off my flying.
