Or just cut the wire off the current one and add a 3.5mm jack on the end.
That would work just fine to splice in the other end instead of the 3.5mm plug. Is the switch assembly an off the shelf component that can be replaced easily when the installed one malfunctions?

The switch itself is a readily available 12mm tact switch, it will be soldered to a custom PCB. Granted it's not much of a reassurance with how new I am here, but if something happened to it I would be willing to fix it.

Thanks for the info. It looks like you have come up with a nice solution.

I'll buy one if you start making them.

So slight hiccup. Digi-key sent my parts to the wrong address and they are re-sending them. Not the biggest set back. Just means that the date gets pushed out. Looking at 2 1/2 weeks out now. I have to wait till the parts are in to place the order on the PCB's...

I've got some done! $75 for one and $125 for two shipped. These are handed(clips to the side of the yoke it was designed for only) and fits the PA20 or early PA22 with the riveted on nameplate.

Here are the finished Push To Talks! I went ahead and made an option with a longer cord so you can connect it back behind the panel if you don't want to use the 3.5mm plug at the panel. I can also throw in a female 3.5mm jack with the shorter one. You could very cleanly install that in your panel next to yoke and then just plug the shorter PTT into it.

Same question. Just saw this, and I'm picking up a Pacer with nothing but a hand held. This looks like a good start.
