Re: Vacuum pump removal
Tap the vacuum pump aft with a plastic hammer. If you have to you can remove the adapter and then seperate them.

Re: Vacuum pump removal
Got it all apart. Now have to wait until Monday to get the seal that goes between the case and adapter. Not the same as the pump/adapter seal.

Re: Vacuum pump removal
Replacing my vacuum pump as well. In the process, I see that the seal (not gasket) installed in the adapter between the vacuum pump and block is not installed straight. I'm mean really crooked. No oil have been getting past though. I just cant leave it as is.
Is there a difference between an automotive type seal and the one that Univair or lycoming has. The seal dimensions match to SKF, and National brand seals. Basically it boils down to ordering one online and paying shipping equal to the price of the seal or merrily pick one up at NAPA and be done with it?
