Just bought a set of Atlee Dodge picking eyes at Stoddards. All they are is a piece of 1/8" stainless 1" x2" or so with two holes drilled in it.

Trimmer fabricated a pair of these....http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/b7747f87c0d1fe5f80fb5def0784abd9.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/681d3b16cd048dc3fe926065c25ae1dc.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/5081e430a9ec2a7991a910ee6922fa50.jpg since I'm waiting on the nose bowl...
Making a trim servo with a step motor and planetary that'll put that plastic set up to shame... Programmable set points. Trim for take off...push a button. Trim for landing push a different button.... This is for my bearhawk. I'm doing the machine work.. Matthew Schumacher is doing the electronics...http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/a25ae953fc0627690eda6471908f6ea2.jpg

Here is the Atlee Dodge lifting eye I have on my Super Cub. Goes on the first inboard bolt next to the wing attach bolt.

Guessing I've mentioned this a couple times.

If you are using these to install floats, as opposed to just servicing wheel gear, then a pair on the aft spars makes the whole monkey/jive smarter and safer. I can climb inside to pull or install the bunggies and other miscellanious items without the bird swinging around like a pendulum. Only the Beaver has the lifting eyes just a touch too far forward: no joy.

Rocket ad infinitum ;)
