It has been a while since I read the article in General Aviation News about the Rupp Racer so I looked for it on line. Here is a link to the article. http://www.generalaviationnews.com/edit ... s&-nothing (http://www.generalaviationnews.com/editorial/articledetail.lasso?-token.key=12470&-token.src=news&-nothing) Unfortunatley there weren't any pictures. Interesting read though. I wonder what he is up to now?

What a great looking airplane! This is exactly the ship that got me all fired up about my project. Mine will take the concept a little further (more speed, more utility, etc), but Rupp gets full credit for the initial inspiration. You might notice that in the last picture, it is apparent that the airplane is wearing wheelpants. I'd sure like to see a "good" picture of the airplane with them installed.

Skip the wheel pants and put on BIG tires.

The Rupp Racer is about SPEED, not sandbars... Lookout Lancair drivers!...

What kind of speeds did he get out of it? I know Jim Younkin goes pretty fast in his Mystery Pacer.

Well, I just emailed him... I'll let you know his reply.

Did anyone ever get any information on this airplane? I was just watching a video with Roger in it and it briefly shows the airplane, but he doesn't talk about it at all. I'd be curious to see some pics and her about the modifications.

Roger sent me a heap of photos they used for the magazine article - I'll try to attach them to this. The front end is a modified RV6 cowl (he has built an RV in the past), landing gear is from Grove Aircraft, 160hp 0320 with dynafocal mount, skylights, etc. Flaps are extended to the fuse' and reflex up a few degrees for cruise.
Still has work to do on fairings (this was 2006) but was seeing 135mph (117kts) @2400. Prop is 74-60.
Real nice bloke and a really interesting aeroplane.

Obviously the photos did not attach - I'll have another go AFTER I read the instructions.

Frankenpacer - welcome back - nice to hear from you again.

Struth! - I am rebuilding an aeroplane and I can't work out how to upload photos!!!!
Doesn't bode well for the future.

It is great to see Rodgers Pacer again. He is a good guy...totaly willing to share his ideas. Very unique plane, with some fantistic mods.
