Hey fellas! My mechanic was delivering my aircraft back to me on a 35 minute flight when 20 minutes into the flight the engine quit. He switched to the rt tank, hit carb heat and full rich and it started and ran, OK. He switched back 4-5 minutes later to left tank. It ran well for 5 minutes and quit again. He switched back to rt and landed. Yes, I know the deal on rt tanks and landing. My question is, does this sound like a fuel cap vent problem? If so, where can I get a new cap? The aircraft has never done anything like this before.
Your input is greatly appreciated!

I'd take the fuel line loose at the carburetor and do a fuel flow test on each tank and see what the difference is. I have seen the vent in the cap get clogged against the tank cover or the gasket around the filler neck.

A friend had a similar problem with a Colt. It turned out that the finger strainer on the right tank was clogged.
