Sixty years ago today, my Vagabond made it's first flight. Paperwork shows the first owner paid Piper $2020, and took it home to Oregon.

And happy 60th to all the other 1948 Pipers too, even if it wasn't on this day.

Still flying and still a cool little airplane.

Happy birthday to the Vagabond. What a sweet airplane. :)

Very cool. Makes me want to look in the Pacer's first log to find that first day (it's 50 this year) It reminds me that we're just custodians of these planes - if we take care of them, they'll have many more "custodians".

Ed,
Happy Birthday to yours. Mine is 60 next month. You must have had a couple options. Mine shows $1995.00

Hi Dave, Haven't seen any progress photos of your Vagabond lately. I hope it's going well for you.

Speaking of old. Looking through the logs of my TriPacer I said to my wife "Do you realize our plane was built the same year and month that you were born?"

Services for Milt will be held following the killing, following Mrs. Milt's reading of this thread...

Yeh, that was a suicide if I ever saw one. Wonder if the plane will be for sale soon?

Y'know, Wimminz is like airplanes, in two ways:
Just 'cuz they ain't brand new don't mean they still ain't fun to take fer a lap around the patch!
That, and very few men can afford two of either...
