any ideas what amps the fuel senders are using . I have a 1951 PA 22 with 18 gal tanks and only one fuel gauge with a switch to ck. fuel in both tanks. I'm trying to wire this thing up and can't find any were it tells me about the amp usage. Can't be much.

The series dropping resistor is 30 ohms. The gage full coil is 30 ohms and the empty coil is 30 ohms but the 30 ohm sender is in parallel with the empty coil. Full fuel the system will draw about 0.14 amps and empty it will draw about 0.20 amps or 140 ma to 200 ma.
See the article on the fuel gage system in the 2008 NOV/DEC Short Winp Piper News.
All the switch does is switch the input to sending unit from one tank to the other to the gage.
