$400 bleeder valve body

I called Univair and they want $400 for what I would call the bleeder valve body part#751-380(shown in picture). Some parts are high but this is not even possible, is it? Mine is cracked and I was also wondering if this is the right part, if it can be welded. thanks

That is a good candidate for an OWNER PRODUCED PART. It can't be that hard to make for someone with elementary machining skills and a cheap lathe.

I was beginning to think that way, Glen, but I found a decent one at a local salvage yard today, so problem solved. :)
