I trying to find 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" diameter A/C U-Bolts, without luck so far. Anyone got a favorite A/C harward source that would have these type of bolts?

I don't recall ever seeing any literal U bolts in aircraft hardware, but that by no means, means they do not exist.
I'm guessing you may wind up with something like this;

(and now it sinks in how large the bolts you need are I may have seen something that large on military A/C)
( ultimately I am still no help whatsoever, I'll be crawling back under my rock now)

You may be no help whatsoever, Hillbilly,but you're a rare treasure nontheless. (kind of like a wingwalker on a Huey!)

For what purpose do you need U bolts?

I'm putting a 20" angle alumimun step across my bare gear legs and removing the welded steps on my Pacer. My PMI is generally OK with the mod, but wants to go me to go with a field approval. Using U-Bolts would avoid the need for welding on my gear legs. This type of step makes it easier to fuel and clean the windshield.

Stephen, I think you want the MS27405 clamps. That is what Atlee Dodge uses on their sea plane long step. I have gotten them from Wicks in the past. http://www.wicksaircraft.com/catalog/pr ... MyNzQwNQ== (http://www.wicksaircraft.com/catalog/product_search_results.php/search=bXMyNzQwNQ==)

I'm looking for a good (close-up???) picture of a Super Cub with the "Fuel Long Step". Attlee does not show a picture of their STC and the SC guys don't seem to know how to post pictures on their site. Any one got a picture so that I can show an example to my PMI?

HB, how about one????

Sorry man, your pmi would not like mine...it looks ominously like a pressure treated 2X8 and 6 rolls O'duct tape...

I think I have the installation drawing from F. Atlee Dodge but no pictures.

I hate to bother your for the drawings, especially since it must be very simple. I figure that the clamps must have a bracket that bolts to the step. It would seem that a simple "L" shaped piece would work fine. Your help on the bracket was great. I was hoping that someone had a picture....you know.....someone like HB......we got to get that guy doing something worthwhile.

The pictures of that roller were inspiring, I want to make one now.
