I had my checkride this morning at St Charles airport just across the river. Couldn't be a nicer day for flying. The paperwork took up about the first 45 minutes and the oral took about an hour and a half. He told me it seemed like I had sat in on one of his orals before.
Flew for about an hour with about 10 minutes on the cross country, only to the first checkpoint, then a turn to a diversion on which we flew for no more than a minute or two, then steep turns in both directions, about 10 minutes of instrument flying, 1 S-turn, and two stalls before heading back to the airport for two landings. Much quicker than I was expecting for the flying portion.
The only problem was him getting in and out. Thankfully he didn't bend or break anything in the process.

congrats, when i got my ticket in 73 or74, the paperwork and oral were minimal and the checkride was the workout. in this day and time , it appears to be the opposite. remember, keep flyin, it keeps you sharp.

It's a great feeling. First solo and the check ride were the most memorable! Congratulations! Do you have a picture with an ear to ear grin?

Two thumbs up Zac. I think you probably have one upon your fellow class mates.

Thanks for all the kind words. No pictures unfortunately. I have to be careful who I tell about having my license or else I will have the whole school asking for a ride.

Zac - you just have to be selective in who you take for rides!

Here is a list of attributes your passengers should have:-
(1) Young ladies - the type you would love to take home to meet your folks.
(2) Read (1) again!
