I spent the last week driving from California to Indiana and back in order to bring home my new/old PA15 project. I'm working on a more detailed write-up, but figured I'd share a few pictures with the group to whet your appetites...

Wow, good job! I'll be just across Missouri and back to retrieve my recently purchased replacement wings.
Enjoy the rebuild!
Great trailer! How did the VW do towing all that?

The VW did just fine -- the whole thing probably weighed ~1200 lbs all told.
Here's the start of the write-up:

Then a bit about the trailer:

And then the drive out to get the project:

Cool, lots of wild looks and interesting conversations when you haul a plane cross country. Love your trailer and ingenuity.

Your trailer mishap reminded me of the time my in-laws were bringing a Super Cub back from Ohio for me. The trailer frame broke on the interstate in Arkansas in the rain. I got on Google maps and found the closest airport and gave them a call and explained the situation. They had a buddy with a welding truck. They pulled the trailer under and over pass and the welder got them going in an hour or so. Meet great people in situations like this.
