I would get with an avionics shop, they are going to have to test that new transponder anyway. I have not heard of a transponder only transmitting 0000, maybe a glitch with the uAvionix?
Cut part way through with a cut off wheel and then take a pair of side cutters and go between the coils and pinch enough the separate and then cut it through with the side cutters.
Ponca is intimidating but is really easy, just an up hill landing and downhill takeoff with no go around past a certain point. Banks is sorta the same, on top of a ridge with lots of trees.

Awesome Zac. Richland Creek is my favorite to camp when the temps are a bit cooler. Cathy and I love Gaston's a s a getaway, take a good book, walk and relax. Really like Byrd's as well but it is intimidating and those afternoon thermals and rotors can be uncomfortable for sure.
The Airfield...
Like posted above, those bolts could be in a bind. I take the load off them with an engine hoist and use a brass punch. If you bell the end of the bolt beating on a steel punch you will have a real mess.
I don't have any issues with vernier mixtures but when I need a burst of power I don't care for the vernier throttle and having to push that middle button.
Continental is just the only one that calls it out. I have a set of compression gauges with the master orifice and the smaller .040" orifice for the Lycomings I maintain.
