Re: Stewart Wingtip Install/ wing overhaul.
Jason, how did you handle the wing root LE fairing pieces? I had a *#!^% of a time trying to fabricate a new one for the left wing (right side was... well, OK, sort of...). I was trying to eliminate the 1/2"+ of silicone that was blobbed all over due to a lousy fit on the previously-fabricated one. Result works, more or less, but didn't come out as nice as I would have liked, once it was screwed in place.

I used the old one as a template but made the new one about 2" wider. I layed it in place and marked and trim until it fit against the windshield how I liked. Then drilled the hole using a hole finder, screwed it down and marked the straight edge by measuring where it met up with the other fairings and a flexible ruler.
When laying it in place just be sure that it lays flat against the ring so there is no rising or flaring where it comes out to the glass.

Re: Stewart Wingtip Install/ wing overhaul.
It flies! Need to put a little more time in before I give a pirep. Left wing is ever so slightly heavy, will take a turn out of the left rear strut and check it.
The bestest best part is that it lost 40 lbs!! We can only figure that the wings had multiple paint jobs.16097.jpeg16099.jpeg20200506_123400.jpeg20200506_124143~2.jpeg

Don't know.
No clue.
Thanks!
Borrowed from a friend who has owned them for close to 20 years. I think spruce sells them for just under $2k?

Re: Stewart Wingtip Install/ wing overhaul.
So got some more flying in after work and I cannot three point. I even threw my survival gear back into the baggage (approx. 25 lbs). And that didnt seem to make a difference.
Anyone else who installed VG'S on the bottom of the horizontals notice this?
I did verify that I am getting correct travel on the elevators.
