I see. Thanks for the additional info. I have a stratux and don't care much if the wings don't match. Sure not spending that much for a replacement light

I agree! The light is very expensive !!

Part of me regrets not waiting for the tail beacon, but I’m inside the 30 mile ring around O’Hare and have to have ADS-B by 2020

Don't you think the tail beacon will ship mid 2019?

They pushed the skyBeacon back quite a ways because of certification issues, but you would think all that is behind them and the tail beacon would be faster since it’s all the same technology just a different light/mount...

But they are dealing with the FAA! So who knows ! I just wanted to be done with it and move onto other things.

The Appareo Stratus that many of us are not certified or TSO’d.
Go thru the decision tree in AC 43-210A and see what kind of approval you need to install the Skysensor.

I am interested in knowing, perhaps by poll, how many members expect to comply with the ads-b 2020 requirement.
Likw what percentage of our pilots will buy ads-b transmitters.

From the linked page at A/C Spruce:
"The SkyFYX meets the performance requirements of 14 CFR 91.227. For use in Experimental and LSA aircraft."
How will you square that with your Shortwing which is neither EXP or LSA?

I just finished installing the Garmin GDL 82 in December. Got my check for $500 10 days later. I am based inside a Class B Mode C veil so it was required.

If you are installing your own read and understand before you start.
    TECHNICAL PAPERAFS-360-2017-1 (Rev 0, 09/25/2017)
    INSTALLATION OF ADS-B OUT EQUIPMENT
It is the road map to properly document the installation.

CamTom’s Pacer is an experimental aircraft. It’s $500. cheaper than mine but does not qualify for the rebate being an experimental non TSO installation so we are almost even. He gets IN with it and I already had IN.
