Shipping an airplane in a shipping container.

May I suggest you contact a few air museums in both the US (Alaska, Hawaii and Lower 4 and UK, and ask if they can advise you on this.
Who knows, they may have dimensioned drawings for a crate.
That beautiful Ryan ST is almost the same size as a Pacer!

Recieved a Super Cub in a container from Italy years ago. Will have to look for the pictures. Here is a photo album of a Husky we shipped back and forth to China several times. Local fab shop built the wing racks and tie downs inside the container.

There is a guy on Backcountrypilot.org who shipped a 140 from Hawaii to the main land. Its fairly common. His was put in a wood crate . Wings removed and all in one box

Pu a Pacer in a container to the UK years ago. Had a Tyrel Indy car in the same box. When you think it’s secure, add some more bracing!

Easier if you can get them to set the container on the ground. Also secure for the positive and negative G loads.

Where did the Ryan come from? It looks like the Netherlands East Indies symbol on the side.
A bunch of them arrived in Australia on the way to Java at the beginning of WWII, and with the fall of the NEI to Japan, the RAAF 'adopted' them and used them as trainers etc.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, thanks guys.
The plane came from French Valley Airport in pieces. We put it together and a couple other things. If I heard correctly it was a trainer for the Denmark military.

The national symbol on the side of the Ryan in your photo looks like on the attached photo. That's a Royal Netherlands East Indies Air Force symbol. Just curious! They look magnificent in flight, like a silver bullet, but I'm told require caution on the ground with any amount of crosswind. I had to hand prop one for a guy once, so I gave it the 'heave-ho' treatment-- with no success. The pilot said 'just grab the blade and walk away, and it will start'. It did, first try. Menasco Pirate engine, I think. I saw one once with a Lycoming conversion--ugly as sin. You can send it to me 'collect' if there's any problem!

That is the markings it has. Sorry I'm not as up on my history as I should.
Yes a Menasco Pirate engine. Has a great sound on the ground and in the air. It's on it's way to Duxford Airfield. If I'm lucky I'll get to reassemble it when it gets there.
