hi Shane, I used the one above. Never really use it though, headphones are used 99% of time. Make sure the size is right for you. Moe

Re: Cabin speaker
I think I used a radio shack one. Never use it though except for the elt check at annual.

Re: Cabin speaker
The original speaker is 4 ohm...
Installation of the extended skylight allows the removal of it....

Re: Cabin speaker
Guys, I am sort of new and ignorant when it comes to knowing why everything belongs where it does, but how or when is a speaker used? Should I be considering one as I put together my Clipper? Thanks for any info.

Re: Cabin speaker
Speakers were used when folks did not use headsets. After many hours in military aircraft with junk headsets and mainly using speakers I have little speakers stuck in my ears. No speaker in my Clipper, just quality active noise reduction headsets.
Buy stock in hearing aid companies.

Re: Cabin speaker
Brian
I wanted to install one but had to draw the"line" somewhere.we all know how projects can snowball
This all started with a simple windsheild replacement and has turned into an fuselage oh with a new firewall, panel, glass & interior
I didn't remove the fuselage fabric- only stripped it down to the nitrate, replaced a bunch of tapes, and grommets. Should be repainting the fuselage in the next couple of weeks....
Deep depression- heavy sigh
I may be taking to you about your nice gasolater though....

Re: Cabin speaker
Long story short... I had to remove my cabin speaker to access the area above the headliner. Not ever seeing a need for it or the cabin light, Can this legally be removed permanently?

Speakers besides being useless weight do not effect the airworthiness. Removal is child's play and does not require an A&P. Get rid of them.
