As far as color schemes go, dark colors on the upper wing is difficult to see from above over green areas. One of our local pilots had dark blue wings. He added big white stars to be seen better. It helped.....some. I still lose him easily when we are flying together.

Excellent point. I’m thinking of a stripe on the wing, but keeping the top mostly this color white. I definitely want visibility.

be warned
it's a $500 fee to colour match. At least that is what we paid last time.....
and I don't think it was because we were Canadian ....lol

There is a fee, it's not $500. Conaircraft.com has their number. Call them and ask. Literally only 12 people work there so they cam hook you up with the right people, and tell you the cost.

Where I live, a white airplane is invisible for half the year !
Plus, the frost never melts off.

All purple with a gray stripe. Can't find any pictures, to long ago I guess. Had an O-290-D2 and went like stink. Four different friends owned it.

Looks like N6857 has been deregistered.
That's never a good sign, unless it moved out of the country.

N6857K serial 16-693. Can't find a picture online. I believe it ended up going overseas.

Yes, it did. The IA who exported it had issue with my AD compliance on the oil pump. I think he wanted to make some money off the overseas buyers.

A friend of mine had Poly fiber color match the yellow on his '93 PA-18 and there was not extra fee.

While I’m waiting for scheduled time to fly, and addressing discrepancies, I’m doing a trial install of my main gear wheel pants. I decided to go with a purple that’s close to what I can get in Polytone (christian eagle purple). I’m thinking of leaving the gear legs and undercarriage white, but adding the typical factory color scheme in CE purple.

I agree about the strut, but this discussion would lead to a new topic: how do I get my hand in there? It was last aired up during the Annual prep, and the nose bowl was disconnected. I guess time to search the archives?
