Passed the test and worked just fine. Had to fabricate a spacer.

what did you make the spacer out of? Thickness, etc? Happen to have a picture from the front showing how much clearance you have ?

3/4 thick wood worked perfect. I don’t have a picture from the front, but this shows the spacer.

Thanks for the update . Based on the reflection of the fin/antenna it looks like you have a pretty good gap. Looks great.

Nice looking airplane by the way.

I think a machined aluminum or phenolic cup about the size a little tomato paste can could be mounted to the top of the rudder via the threaded tube where many folks (like me) have a strobe or rotating beacon for the anti-collision light.
The TailBeacon mounts in the cup with the vane pointing aft.
Maybe make the cup out of a few inches of J3 Cub aft wing strut material, so it's streamlined!
Can't see why that would not work, but wonder if the LEDs in the TailBeacon could be made to flash, and it the intensity of them is legal as an anti-collision light?
If the TailBeacon won't flash, it could require installing flashing LED position lights on wingtips and rudder.

Just spit balling here, and spending money I don't have.

I posted the same question on the Uavionics FB page two days ago, so far crickets.
They do have some nice pics of a SkyBeacon being installed on a Grumman OV1 Mohawk.

Problem is there are antennas in there. One pointing up and another pointing down.

Inside the TailBeacon? So It has to be "horizontal" like in the tail lamp position on trailing edge of rudder? Well crap.
Ah, just read the install instructions... https://uavionix.com/downloads/tailb...userManual.pdf
Maybe an adapter that holds it like that on top of rudder would work. Although they want it as far aft as possible. Don't see how that makes a difference when the ground station is off your nose...

I’d bet money if you just duct taped it inside the fuselage it would work fine. My ADSB-IN antennas are inside the empanage and I have great WAAS GPS and UAT 978 reception. My ELT antenna is there also. I set it off once by accident inside a metal hangar and the satellite picked it up.

It would certainly make my white with blue stripes fabric plane more visible, having a bright light inside the aft fuselage.
Not sure my IA would sign off on duct tape tho. Better use a couple zip ties to be legal.
