2020 Insurance
Hey all,
Has anyone had the pleasure of renewing their insurance late last year or already in 2020? Just curious what others are seeing in terms of premium increases (if any). I've read in other forums that some are experiencing some significant jumps, usually with a faster, more complex aircraft, but I've been told the entire industry is seeing increases.
I'll be starting the process of renewal here in a month or so, and already got a quick quote from another company that was recommended to me. That quote was $300 more than my current premium for the same coverage.
Thanks!

Re: 2020 Insurance
My insurance guy told me last september when we were at RNO together that premiums were going to go up this year.

We're actual due in March. However, the agent is already requesting info/flight hours so they can start shopping. We had an increase last year but I'm hoping not again this year.

Re: 2020 Insurance
My insurance is almost the same as last few years at $761 through Travers. This includes $25k hull insurance on my Pacer. I have not shopped around for years because they fully paid off a major damage claim on my plane years ago with virtually no questions.

Good to know. Travers is where I just got my quote. I've been with Falcon Insurance since we bought the Pacer in 2012, and the rate is typically around $750. The quote from Travers was $989 for this year. I haven't gone through the renewal process with Falcon yet, so that's what got me wondering how others are doing with renewals...

Re: 2020 Insurance
Mine did not increase. And I had an accident ( Ground Loop) that was paid in full. No deductible on the policy 40K hull value. I got my fist years policy with less than 50 hours tailwheel. So it was high ( 1628 a year ) . Im not bitching or shopping around because they covered my screw up, didn't drop me and offered to cover me again at the same value

Mine went up $44.00. No complaints.

That's because Clipper's are not airworthy without flaps.

They just know he isn't gonna take it to those places you and I frequent.
