I just repaired a doped horizontal that way. Worked great.
Is your Clipper covered with Stewart System?

No. It's AirTech catalylized polyurethane. http://www.airtechcoatings.com.

I did my Vag wing in Stewart's. Covered a set of SuperCub wings in it and have used it to make several repairs to other aircraft as noted above.
Its much easier to use, doesn't stink and is less expensive. Down side, the top coat is tricky to apply.
Next time I will top coat in Ranthane, Polytone or AirTec as I did with the repairs.

Anyone know the part number and name of the sheet metal that apparently comes off the spar and provides a surface at the level of the ribs ar the rear of the fuel tank for cover attachment? Features nut plates.

I believe that it is PA22-FS-1 for $135 from Dakota Cub. But I cannot find it on their web site, the site is very difficult to search.

Univair has the parts manual on their website now. Pretty handy.
