    Default Cabin door gas struts

Has anyone been successful installing a gas strut on a normal opening cabin door. I have just started doing the research to see if it makes any sense to engineer/install these. It would have to be better than the door hold open catch’s that are currently being used. Any constructive opinions or comments appreciated.

I remember seeing someone do this. Can't remember if it was on here or in the 'Shortwing Tips & Tricks' publication.

I installed these on our Bonanzas. They work great and no more broken latches from bonehead students trying to overpower them. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catal...clickkey=14303
