Neither, Steve-- see the "J" up on the hill? That was a copper mine, in Jerome, AZ, which is situated --literally-- on the side of a mountain. They even had lights so you could look down --quite a ways-- into the 1600' deep hole. (!) That rig was used to haul ore up and men up and down. Never realized copper was such a big item in that region, from the late 1800s into the WWII era. That's where most US copper came from, mines all over the place, some still in operation. Overall, a VERY different landscape than what I'm used to, for sure! Lots of really weird trees here.... no leaves & lots of prickly things!
