    Here is a good troubleshooting idea, but consult your mechanic before attempting.
    Also be aware it requires running the engine, so appropriate safety measures should be observed.

    Since I've already changed out the voltage regulator and also had both voltage regulators checked on a test bench, I am inclined to think that new Jersey Dave is onto something that might be what I'm experiencing. I am running a 1953 PA-22/20-135 with all original electrical system, Gill battery, Delco Gen, coil type voltage regulator. I'll P/M you, new jersey dave. Thanks for the this tip!!
