    Default Radio Repair Shop Recommendations

We have the AT150 transponder and the KX170B nav/comm in the Tri-Pacer and they are both in need of repair. What's a good shop for these older units that has parts for the old radios and isn't going to charge an arm and a leg and take a month to get them back?

Might call Lafayette Avionics in Lafayette Indiana, used them for a MK-12D and KX-155....

Old thread but is Texas Avionics still a good place to go? I've sent them an email but just in case they are backlogged, any other suggestions?

Lafayette Avionics repair tech has been out since Covid started so they can't do it. They did point me towards Mike's Avionics in Star Valley AZ -formerly was located in Van Nuys CA. Anyone have a PIREP on them? Seemed nice enough on the phone but...

I have a KT-76A that checks out fine in my semi-annual certification but the IDENT light doesn't illuminate. Probably just a burnt bulb. Argh. They wouldn't sign-off on the unit. Hopefully just a simple repair...and a quick one.

https://www.airwich.com/index.html I use these folks, but they are moving and not taking work right now. I would snatch up a serviceable one from the internet, I've seen em at $100 guaranteed to work!

I used Bevan Aviation to have an MX-170B repaired. Only people that I could find that would do a repair. They were great to work with and I would take my legacy radios to them again.

I used this place last year for a transponder repair and was very happy with their service, price and quick turn around.

I’ve used North Texas Avionics on several issues including biannual IFR and xponder cents.
He’s located at Hick’s airfield (T67). It’s would be worth giving him a call.
