Pipeline Patrol PA-22 Forced Landing
I came across this recently:
http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2017/0...n2591a_15.html
I'm glad the pilot walked away with only minor injuries.
I didn't know that there were any PA-22's doing pipeline patrol. Must have been some kind of contract thing?
I'm sure there were Pipeline Patrol PA-22's back in the day (ex. the Ohio Oil Co. used a small fleet of -22's in the 50s for patrol work), but I figured that it was all done by larger operations running Cessnas or even drones now.
Interesting.

Re: Pipeline Patrol PA-22 Forced Landing
An outfit out of OK. was using a Pacer for high line patrol. He is now using a Scout but he liked the Pacer because the controls were lite, and the scout wears him out. He still has the Pacer.

Re: Pipeline Patrol PA-22 Forced Landing
There was a 180 hp Pacer operating out of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area doing pipeline patrol a few years ago. They now use a C172 and on occasion a Super Cub. Roger Megers who rebuilt PA18 number 1 has a pipeline patrol company that uses Huskys.
