Re: Flying into Alton Bay B18
Steve, it was late last night to write and publish my trip report on our EAA Chapter Web-Site (www.eaa1031.com). Click on "Flyout Reports" to read the report and view the pictures. I will post some of the pictures here over the weekend.

Re: Flying into Alton Bay B18
Congratulations, Juergen. And thanks for the advice.
I attended the webinar last night. Just a couple more things to prepare. We need to be in New Hampshire for two days so we'll need to have good conditions either before or after to make it work.

Tim, we love to hear about flying stories. Please post a short report after you did it.

I attended the webinar last night too. All those pics of planes sliding into snow banks....I will ride in with someone else but I don't think I am taking my bird in...chicken? yes I am!

The post is available at www.eaa1031.com and click on the "Flyout Reports" TAB. I will try to post some pictures on this side over the weekend. Where are you in Virginia? I'm in Winchester KOKV.

I attended the Webinar a couple of weeks ago. Yes, it does look scary to see some of the accidents. Approaching a chunk of Ice at Highway speed at a 3 to 4 degree slope and then hoping to keep it straight and come to a stop does sound a little intimidating. However, the important things have to happen before you touch down (especially in a tail-wheel airplane). Be on speed, be in the center of the runway, have the nose pointing straight down the runway and don't have any sideways drift.

Re: Flying into Alton Bay B18
I flew in there 4 years ago with a friend in a Stinson. Pretty neat --and interesting-- but cold! There were LOTS of planes that day. I'd add some pics, but my $#%$# computer is telling me "You don't have permission to view it" GRRR!
