I'm planning on making the trip up to KAWO in a few weeks to visit family. I've planned my trip to coincide with the Arlington Flyin. I'm curious if anyone else will be attending. Stephen, if you'll be around I'd love to stop in and check out your bird if possible.

It is on my calendar although, I've got a conflict to sort out first. If you want to come out to Lopez that would be great.
Although I am based only 15nm to the south, I'll likely fly the kids up for Saturday.
Question, being 1958 I'd assume I would request parking with the vintage aircraft?

We will be down as well but because the distance is short and it's a real pain on the border for light air raft we will drive down..hope to meet some of you there...Robert

How come it is hard to cross the border? I flew to Alaska 7 years ago and thought both US and Canada were pretty easy. Has it changed?
You went the right way, lol. Flying from the USA into Canada is pretty easy..Flying from Canada to USA is a different game....for Canadians . It's not like it's super hard, it's just a real pain in the butt for a 30 minute flight. We used to fly into Washington most weeks years ago but it's no longer worth the hassle these days...We miss the old days.
It’s not easy for US citizens to fly into the US from Canada either. Piece of cake for us to fly into Canada.
I had a bad experience flying back into the US from Canada. I even got a threatening call later from DC, accusing me of illegally filling out the "Ape s***" forms. It turns out it was most likely a computer glitch on their end, since my friend flying his planes with me had the exact same issue. The DC jerk threatened me with jail. My families illegal entry status goes back to the 1700's.
Arlington Fly In has lost a lot of Canadian participants, sadly.
