Red face Thank you Mr Piper for the front nose wheel

well last weekend a buddy and I where delivering flyers to local airports for the upcoming COPA western convention. Actually we just wanted to go flying and this was a good a reason as any lol. we flew to Ponoka AB then on to Wetaskiwin AB then hoped over to Camrose AB. all was good until we got to Camrose. we flew over looking at the runway and it was mostly clear with a few spots of snow.looked good for landing so away we went and landed. well..... the spots of snow on the runway where actually drifts- HARD drifts. oh boy

well we have to thank Mr.Piper for building the tripacer nose gear like the proverbial poop house. the guy I was with said that if we had used his C-172 we would have been in a world of hurt with the nose gear folded back and a bent prop

A fella who was clearing his apron with his Kubota broke all the rules and plowed us a short strip so that we could get home. good practice for our short field
    technique......

    all is good

Aren't airplane people the best? The guy clearing the apron in front of his hangar stopped what he was doing to help a fellow pilot in need! We might be a small group, but by far one of the most friendly groups you will find anywhere, glad you made it home and had a great day of flying too!

I've tried, Witt success to remove the nose gear assembly on my Tripacer in almost every way and as of yet have been unsucsesful. Still have a few more years in her yet though...
