    Default Sun Visor Installation

I've owned my Wagabond for just over 6 months and thought that it would be a good idea to install sun visors. Unfortunately, most of the solutions intended for aircraft can be quite pricey. Recently, I learned that Ram Mounts had a visor available for a reasonable price: https://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-393-G1U

It's also available with a suction cup mount and flex arm: https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-166-326-VIS-G1U

I decided on the one without the mounting system and added these two components:
    https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-231ZU
    https://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-201U-A

Look around on eBay and Amazon. You can find some deals on Ram Mount components there. I have just over $100 invested in the components for two visor installations.

Since my Wagabond has no headliner, I had several options of tubing to use for the mounting. For those of you with headliners, the exposed cross braces would probably do just fine. I have GPS antennas that mount on those in my aircraft.

This picture isn't the best, but it shows the installation on the RH side:

The width of the visor is perfect for a dual installation in the Wagabond.

I used some of those parts to mount my GPS and have the suction cup mount for my phone. The suction come has been known to pop off on take-off. I like your clamp on method better. I did not know Ram was making sun visors. Good to know, thanks.

Thanks for this! I just ordered a set and am looking forward to less squinting.

Had these in the Howard. Place them where you want, don’t get in the way, and the price is right!

I discovered RAM mounts a couple years ago and use the setup you showed and also use the slap on visors in combination. RAM has a HUGE selection of mounts that most don't know about. check it out if you're inclined...
