    The last time I flew I used the older radio to receive awos from the home field and received it from over 15 miles out. The newer radio was not receiving till a little over 5 miles. But I turned the old one off before I checked. I think if I leave the old radio on and then check the newer radio, it should receive from further out, but don't know why. For whatever reason turning on the old radio makes newer radio sound better, at least in the hanger.
