    It is an Electronics International (EI) UBG-16. Use the top scale bars for EGT. In the picture it is the top center instrument..

    There were several different versions of steering rods over the years. If they are both bent a little they probably are OK.
    They need to clear the carburetor and other stuff under the engine.
    Most likely shimmy is from bad ball-end joints where the rods connect to the steering arm,or loose hardware on the steering arm, or unbalanced tire, or worn shimmy damper/hardware/mount...

    Thank you, I checked on Univair catalogue and it seems there are 2 versions, I have the second one (serial number) but there's no image to see how much is bent.
    The first version is bent, probably also the second one.

    There are 2 different vesions of the steering rods. The very early Tri-Pacers use a different fork. Both versions have a bend to get around things. http://www.shortwingpipers.org/forum...-Steering-Rods
