Outside Air Temp gauge?
My '61 Colt did not have any kind of OAT gauge in it when I bought it. I have been using a small digital temp gauge that I stuck down thru a small opening near the front of my seats. I would like to upgrade to a better gauge, so was wondering what others here are using? Thanks, kelliots......

I'm surprised you haven't received any replies yet.....
I have one of these in my plane, it's installed in the windshield on the right side up close to the wing root. I find that location very easy to look over and see the correct temperature without parallax errors.

Re: Outside Air Temp gauge?
I've considered a Scott temp gauge, but I don't want to drill a hole thru my windshield.....

Wow... one of the things on my wishlist, too! Got any pics of your installation, Forrest?

Hi Walt,
I was just out working on my plane yesterday, and thought of taking a pic of the temp probe for this thread.....got sidetracked and forgot....I'll try and get one later this week.

Re: Outside Air Temp gauge?
Put it in the pop out window just make sure it clears the wing when open.

Re: Outside Air Temp gauge?
And when you drill the hole there are special drills. Not scary if you do it right.

Re: Outside Air Temp gauge?
Put mine on pilot side window, upper front corner. Window is easy to change if you want and no clearance issue that the pop up window has.

This is where the Taylor thermometer is mounted on N9401D.
