Horizontal Stabilizer Slot Closeouts
I'm thinking of keeping my Colt outside for a few months. Years ago on an earlier Colt of mine, I had closeouts that slipped over the forward tube structure. Were about 1/4 inch thick micarta and oval with a slot to accept the forward tube. Anyone know of a source for something like this or a drawing. As I remember the trick was to run the stabilizer either to full up or down so that the access slot in the closeout was not lined up with the slot in the access panels; thus blanking off the jackscrew area.

Re: Horizontal Stabilizer Slot Closeouts
If you are going to leave your plane sit outside, run the trim to the full nose down position. This will keep the drain holes at the lowest position and allow any water to dain rather than sit against your leading edge tubes.
