Re: Oil pressure and temp
Your pump is an obsolete design. The two piece pump was replaced many years ago because it leaked pressure between the pump halves. Sounds just like the problem you are having.
Also, part of the revision was due to one of the impellers being made from aluminum mounted on a stationary shaft and the other was sintered iron that was on a driven shaft.

The current pump uses a one piece pump body and two nitride steel gears. When you install a new one piece pump you have to modify the accessory case for an rotating idler shaft. Lycoming SI 1341 details the modification.

Re: Oil pressure and temp
The play between the gears in your video is called “Backlash”. Without backlash the gears would bind and drag. New clearance is .08” to.012”. .020” is the in service max.

Re: Oil pressure and temp
An AD was issued against that pump in 1996 and should have been replaced no later than 2001, 5 years after the AD was issued.

Re: Oil pressure and temp
the backlash in my pump is 0,01. That means, the backlash would be ok. The engine has 2300h, so have I to change the pump or wait to the overhaul?
