Forgot vendor, but is in Alaska and has a "SIDE YOLK" replacement with ptt button. Very cool and allows unobstructed view of panel.

That's Eddie Trimmer's mod and STC that Old3pacer mentioned. http://trimmeraviation.com/yoke.html

The paracord I like; 1, because it looks cool; and 2, you have 20'-30' of paracord at your fingertips (get it? ) in case of a "spontaneous camping" incident.

Ok, I spotted some bright red paracord in Walmart looking for a folding chair the other day....I'll try it and take and post a pic later. : ) I still contend the original design is very good for a number of reasons, but I'm open to some new ideas.

While I have my hand on the left side of the yoke when I'm flying, at least 90% of the time, that just looks odd. Certainly practical and removes the obstructions of the panel issue but just "looks like" too much is missing. Probably just a visual thing in my head.

I like the rams horn style better and have been looing at options for it. I am 700 miles away from the plane right now as well. Any chance anyone can tell me what the diameter of the control tube is?

I did a DER approval for a PMA PA-28 control wheel on a Colt a couple years ago. I’ll look up what wheel was used.

Nice! I am guessing that you used the 3/4" adapter so that would give me the shaft size I am looking for right there. Spendy lil buggers but look sweet!

Merged your thread with another on skinny control yokes. Here is a good thread on push to talk ideas. https://www.shortwingpipers.org/foru...8-PTT-Switches

Google searched "Push to talk site:shortwingpipers.org" and "Control yoke wrap site:shortwingpipers.org"
