    There is no replacement for displacement.

    That O-320 with an 82-44 Borer will blow your mind on performance increase.

    I pulled one notch of flaps in my Pacer prior to adding power and then pulled full flaps when lifting off gravel bars. Once I left full flaps on after landing on an island and the take off results were not good. At the end of the island I went to pull the last notch for the extra lift and discovered was already at full flaps with no reserve. Pulled on the yoke and got airborne enough to skip across the water 3 times before I went over on my back in about 3" of water. Not a good day but was able to fly it out.
