    Default 1962 Piper Colt

    1962 Piper Colt PA-22-108

I hate to post this but it's about time. My other plane is about ready to move to the Hangar and I need to sell my Colt for space.

Covering is all pretty good. There are some cosmetics that could be done if someone cares to.

Runs like a top and fly's straight.

Give me call for more info.

I still have this Colt for sale. I haven’t advertised anywhere else and haven’t been in a rush to sell it. Now I’m getting closer to finishing my other project and will need to make room in my hanger. Open to offers.

The questions I would ask first if I were in the market would be when was it last recovered and details? When was the engine overhauled and details? Who much was it flown in 2015, 16, 17 -2020?

Thanks Steve. The fuselage is the oldest fabric which was done in the 80’s. I believe it has an Areothane type finish, glossier thicker looking paint. The wings were recovered but the log books don’t show when. They are painted with Polytone type of finish. I’m not sure when they were recovered but newer than the fuselage by far. Maybe there was another set of log books that I don’t have. The horizontal stab and elevators were covered just before I bought it in 2007.

The engine was overhauled in 1974 and I did a Top overhaul around 2011 I think. Oil press runs 80 psi in flight and it uses very little oil and doesn’t leak oil or very little seepage.

I only fly it about 25 hours a year but try to fly every month but that doesn’t happen always.

Anyone interested can give me a call for more detailed info.

It’s a nice plane and could be flown for many hours as is. It’s quite economical!

Sounds like a good deal for someone that doesn't mind, and can, work on it now and again. Good deal for anybody that is looking for this type of fun. Strange how we throw our money away, huh? I would jump on it if I did not have my toy...piggy bank.
