    Can you use a PA 16 gear to convert a PA 22 to tailwheel?

    No, PA-16 uses only bungees, PA-20 and PA-22 use hydrosorb. PA -16 is only 1650 gross, so you would need to do a full analysis and drop test if you wanted a higher gross weight.

    You will need to use the available STC to do it. You won’t get a field approval.
