Univair struts are the same cross section as original. I just pulled a set of struts, had forks magnafluxed and reinstalled. $500 in labor at my shop rate of $75 an hour plus $100 in the forks every 500 hours until they reach 2000 hrs total time.

That’s a $1.20 an hour for 500 hours.....not a bad deal for aviation stuff

That is just on the forks. Still have to punch the struts every 2 years with an average of just over 50 hours a year for this particular airplane.
