Next time I’m out there I can grab you a picture of the bottom tube assembly. I should have but didn’t think of that at the time. Sorry!

Re: rear seats ?
I was thinking a single place sling on the right side with velcro at the seat back tube. I have carried 3 people but rarely 4.

Would it need an STC to do it? If one was to use the original attach points and just modify it a bit to only have one seat on the right side?

Re: rear seats ?
My thoughts were to just replicate the original sling, use the existing frame etc and just make a single, one person sling or make two separate slings that were easily removable so I could carry 3 people and more stuff. Inspired by taking two teenagers to Oshkosh last year with camping gear.

That sounds like a really good idea.

Re: rear seats ?
Maybe it would be easiest to "notch" the sling top and bottom loops, at center.
When only one rear passenger seat is needed, remove botton and back cushion, unlace the sling-top half-way, pull the bottom support out and reinsert only on the side you want to use. Fold the free, unwanted half under the half you want to use.
This gives you a left or right seat, or both, in the back.
Boat cushion and seatback of the correct size would provide comfort for that single rear passenger, and meet flammability requirements.

Re: rear seats ?
My sling has a thin plywood base that attaches to the seat frame front cross tube with C clamps that just slide over the tube. An upholstered cushion velcro’s To the tube. The sling is velcro’d to the streamline tube for easy removal of the whole assembly.

Re: rear seats ?
Hi,
When you get to making changes to the seating back there, keep in mind the crashworthiness of your design. That sling should keep their bodies out from under the front seat and their butts off the floor.
