I spent last Sunday on the western side of the Sierras. I was course marshaling for the 24hrs of Lemons at Button Terrible. Sorry I missed you. Were you hanging out with Rick Lach?
Yeah it was neat to learn that Rick is the guy who builds the engine mounts for Eddie Trimmer's 180 hp ATC. Got to tour his shop and talk technical, learned lots.
I finished laying the carpet all the way back into the baggage area, and have started tearing down and refoaming and covering the seats, I started with the rear bottom cushion to try out my ideas. It’s going so well that I’m going to start on the front seats next. I found the blue plaid in the upholstery bargain bin. It’s a heavy cotton and good for 15k double rubs... the blue vinyl is the same as I used for the column boot, I just purchased more. This is really my first time trying my skills on seat covers. More pictures to come....
I’m not totally finished with my interior work. But I did manage to get far enough along that i had coverage on all four places. The front seats are done and finished... I have the seat base covered, but I’m going to add two panels of cotton fabric that will go under the plaid covered seat cushions. On the back I replaced the foam, and had all the fabric placed with contact cement, which will work, but isn’t permanent. I also added some grab straps over the larger fasteners at the the top of the C-pillars.
